OUR STORY
Since our founding in 2019, we have worked with local artisans to bring you quality, everyday leather products.
In 2024, we made a strategic shift to focus on leather products due to the potential of the sector to create jobs and enhance incomes. It gives us joy to promote and nurture local makers, giving them an opportunity to bring competitive products to market and to improve their processes. Every Collage product that you buy supports a small enterprise and sustains a livelihood.
Working with local artisans
Our work with local artisans includes facilitating access to market, support to enhance production and processes and enabling access to capital inputs.
- Access to market: we help to bring products of local producers where the market is. This is done through our digital platforms, shop to shop distribution and a reseller model. A crucial initiative under marketing is building the capacity on branding, development of marketing strategies and implementation.
- Enhancing production and processes: We build the capacity of producers to improve production and operational processes and support adoption of more efficient production and operational processes and technologies. Through our entrepreneurship development programme, we provide core entrepreneurship training on product development, planning, management, and all relevant business practices. We also facilitate shared learning opportunities.
- Capital inputs: Through the Collage credit facility, we provide operational and machinery loans to our producers to enable consistent production, scale, and innovation.
